Silver Lining (2021) is a short documentary about Alexis Hex, a drag artist in Chicago, who experienced drastic life changes as the performing industry was heavily affected during the lockdown in the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Inside the studio apartment, they moved their drag shows onto virtual streaming platforms, and started a knitting tutorials YouTube channel, following their life-long passions. Through performing and knitting, they built their unique stage to channel their artistic expressions and hopes in the unprecedented time.
Silver Lining is in the official selection for Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival 2021, Dayton Independent Film Festival 2021 and Topaz Film Festival 2021.
